Fox Ridge State Park

Welcome to Fox Ridge State Park!  My photos were taken on August 16, 2003.  The state park is located near Charleston.  The address is 18175 State Park Road, Charleston, IL 61920.  The phone number is 1-217-345-6416.

Fox Ridge is located 8 miles south of Charleston.  The park occupies 1,632 acres.  The park is set amidst rolling hills along the forested bluffs of the Embarras River.  There is a dam and spillway which created the 12-acre Ridge Lake.

Arrowheads and artifacts uncovered in this area indicate habitation by prehistoric Native American cultures.  The park offers camping, fishing, picnicking, hiking, playground, and hunting.
