In the park you will find trails and overlooks along the Illinois River. Eighteen canyons make up the backdrop of your adventure. The park is located along the south side of the Illinois River. Fascinating rock formations are found inside the park. |

If you visit the park in early spring, when winter is thawing, you can view sparkling waterfalls at the heads of all canyons. The bluffs provide points for enjoying spectacular views. |

Special events including Winter Wilderness Weekend, Cross-Country Ski Weekend, Annual Wildflower Pilgrimage, Montreal Canoe Weekend, and Fall Colors weekend occur annually. |

A visitors center and lodge are located in the park. The visitors center offers displays and exhibits. The lodge has 72 hotel rooms and 22 cabin rooms. A restaurant is open 7 days a week. |

Inside the park, you may boat, camp, fish, hike, ride horses, hunt, and picnic. |
