The park occupies 631 acres. The park is set amidst woods, water, and wildlife. The lake is stream fed and occupies 59 acres. The park offers two scenic, tree-lined drives and a 65 acre Nature Preserve. |

In and around the park you will find several animals including turtles, snakes, squirrels, and birds. |
|
|
|
Walnut Point was named for Douglas County's first pioneer settlement. The settlement, no longer in existance, was established in the 1830's about 2-3 miles from the park site. The park offers fishing, hunting, camping, hiking, picnicking, concession, and winter sports. |
